I started this website in 2006 out of frustration with the lack of readily available electronic information on green products and services in South Africa and because I had a growing file of newspaper and magazine clippings of interesting and innovative environmentally friendly products that I wanted to share with others. 
  
My MA in Sustainable Development helps me to interpret and critique some of the technical product information provided by manufacturers, but I am not an environmental scientist and I don't have the resources to do independent tests to verify claims - so the caveat 'buyer beware' applies to all the products on this site. 
  
The maintenance of this website is a voluntary effort, something I enjoy doing in between my work as a freelance developmental social welfare researcher and planner.
